* In the song, it is said *day-ah-bree-el* - in the
Enochian way. Dabriel is a Monday angel and said
to reside in the 1st heaven - altho I can find no
evidence of Dabriel being one of John Dee's angels.
This angel is the heavenly scribe, also equated with
Vretil, who is the angel who dictated "366 books
in 30 days and 30 nights" to Enoch (Enoch II, 23.3).
"Vretil is frequently referred to, in Enoch II and Ezra
lore, as "the scribe of the knowledge of the Most
High". This is from 'A Dictionary of Angels -
Including the Fallen Angels' by Gustav Davidson.
What this amounts to is that he is asking for this unfortunate incident to be *written over* - canceled.

** 'I shall miss more than this flesh' was
suggested by ZZ on Sumerland list. I do
not hear 'than' in this. The word 'flesh' seems
to follow 'more' but the word after is too
distorted to make out.

*** I know, this is supposedly "Of the perfumed
and penetrated flesh". The word *penetrated*
alone has 4 syllables. There are only 7 syllables
spoken here in the whole phrase. There are no
hard or soft P sounds in this bit at all. Another
possibility may be "All of her mattering (or mattery)
flesh..." Again, this may be the case of different
versions of the same song. Matter - a word
spoken before this twice - is that which
occupies space and can be perceived
by one or more of the senses; any
physical body. Philosophically speaking,
matter is that which is in itself
undifferentiated and formless and which,
as the subject of change and
development, receives form, and
becomes substance and experience.

*** No guarantees on these ;-) Just what it
sounds like to me.

If indeed, ZOON is about the
Watchers coming to Earth and taking the
daughters of Men to wife and the results thereof -
keep in mind that the Watchers taught humans
magic -' the worthless secrets of Heaven'. These
words seem to be the Watcher 'willing' her to
become whole again; trying to undo what has
happened. In the Mesopotamian and Egyptian
myths, the feat of resurrection is a somewhat
common theme - as in the most well-known
cases of Inanna, Osiris, Baal and Horus.
Gilgamesh pleads for his friend Enkidu to
be restored, when he has died.

Melt
(the catching of the butterfly)

[ Write o'er Dabriel ] *

As she crawls from my hands,
Her eyes have nearly found me...
[Her eyes have found me]
Matter... blood...
Matter... blood...
Her features cease to be traced.

[ I shall miss more (?) ] **

Oh, forgive me...
Now have your place with God.
Innocence Can Be Hell.
I love her mattering flesh...***
she's melting...
she's melting...
melting away.
Of the passions that seal and destroy us...
Subtle fire, secret flame.
[ You're healed] ****
Torture by desire.
Transformation from flesh to spirit.
Lie here...
[ Lie... ]
****
M
elting...
Just MELT!
[ Lie whole... ] ****

There's a stillness between the night and me -
nothing but dreams and decay.
And the angel
whose wounds are my lamentation,
all -
just melt away.
[ Lie whole - my lie, love ]
****
Melting...
melting away
[ Lie whole, my love. Now you're whole!] ****

(Even angels lose their wings, eventually...)
